Hunter/Jumper Schooling Derby:

Description of Jumps in ALL Rounds
1. Obstacles must simulate those reminiscent of the hunt field and course must offer a variety of Classic jumps with different appearances such as: natural post and rail, stone wall, white board fence or gate, coop, aiken, hedge, oxer, brush, logs, natural foliage.
2. Natural obstacles such as banks and ditches are allowed.
3. A minimum of 2” difference is required for the back element of all oxers.
4. Ground lines are not to exceed 18” in depth from the vertical plane of the jump. For appropriate jumps, no ground line is necessary.
5. The jumpable portion of any fence must be a minimum of 8 feet on its front face.
6. Flat cups may only be used for log fences and in accordance with Federation rules.
7. Distances will not be adjusted for ponies.

Both Classes within each level (Classic Hunter and Handy Hunter) are considered a division: $45.00

Classic Hunter Style Course (First Round): $25.00
1. A minimum of ten (10) obstacles must be offered in the Classic Hunter Round.
2. At least one in and out
3. At least one bending line
4. At least one line with an unrelated distance
5. At least one long approach

Handy Hunter Course (Second Round): $25.00
1. A minimum of ten (10) obstacles must be offered in the Classic Hunter Round.
2. At least one in and out
3. At least one bending line
4. At least one line with an unrelated distance
5. At least one long approach

Open Class (Optional Third Round): $35.00

*Open divisions must compete in one additional division per level section to be eligible for prize money. Horse/rider combination may only compete in one Open Division.
Open divisions prize money will be distributed as follows: 40%, 30%, 20%, 15%, 10%, 5%

6. At least one trot fence

 

Cost:

Pre-entry fee: $25 per class and/or $45 per division must be received by Saturday, July 25, with payment for all classes pre-entered. Open classes are priced at $35.00/class. Only one open class may be entered per horse/pony combination. Open checks will not be accepted for pre-entry prices.

Post-entry fee: Any entries received after the close date or on the day of the show will be charged a flat $10 fee in addition to the regular class fees.

Stabling: $25 per day or $45 per night, regardless of arrival and departure times. Stabling for the entire weekend is $65. Stabling is VERY limited. Please call (814) 434-0914 in advance for reservations.

Shavings: $6 per bag

Extremely Green Horse

Extremely Green Open*: Horse/rider combination must compete in either extremely green horse or extremely green rider sections prior to this division to be eligible for prize money. Horse/rider combinations may only compete in one open division.

Baby Green
Maximum height of fences is 2’3″
Optimum speed will be 325 MPM.
• Baby Green Horse
• Baby Green Rider
• Baby Green Open*: Horse/rider combination must compete in either baby green horse or baby green rider sections prior to this division to be eligible for prize money. Horse/rider combinations may only compete in one open division.

Low Hunter
Maximum height of fences is 2’6″
Optimum speed will be 335 MPM.
• Low Hunter Horse
• Low Hunter Rider
•  Low Hunter Open*:  Horse/rider combination must compete in either low hunter horse or low hunter rider sections prior to this division to be eligible for prize money. Horse/rider combinations may only compete in one open division.

Intermediate Hunter
Maximum height of fences is 2’9
Optimum speed will be 335 MPM.
Intermediate Horse
